About
As part of the land-system of universities, the NC Cooperative Extension Service, is charged with the mission of providing researched solutions to the citizens of North Carolina that will improve and sustain the quality of life and prosperity for individuals, families and communities. In partnerships with county governments, County Extension Agents, located in County Extension Centers, work with local officials and community partners to identify and with deliver unbiased validated evidence-based non-formal educational programs and information that meet the needs of local communities in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, environmental quality and conservation, nutrition, health and wellness, financial resource management and consumer education, and 4-H and youth leadership development.
